How to Find People or Friends on Facebook

Did you meet someone at camp and forget to get their contact information before you left? Luckily, as long as you know their name and a few helpful details, you may be able to find them on Facebook anyways! Unfortunately, if they have too many privacy options set, they may be impossible to find. But if they are searchable, here is how to find them!

Instructions

1) Direct your web browser to the Facebook homepage. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Find Friends" link.

2) Use the different search options to locate your friends. You can type in your email address to find out which of your contacts have Facebook accounts, or you can type the person's name or email address in the "Search for Friends" box. Click on the magnifying glass to initiate a search of the Facebook database.

3) Scroll through the results until you find the friend you're looking for. Click on the friend's name or profile photo to go to his Facebook profile page. What you can see on your friend's profile will depend on his Facebook privacy settings; you might be able to see his Facebook wall, contacts and photos, or you might only see his name.

4) Take the desired action. You can add this person as a Facebook friend, send a private message or simply look over his profile information.

Tips & Warnings

You can also search for friends by name on the "Find Friends" page. However, this is quite time-consuming unless your friend has an extremely uncommon name.
